Help & troubleshooting

The fastest way to get help is straight to the developer. Here are the answers that come up most.

Is Iqra available yet?

Iqra is pre-release for iPhone on iOS 17+, coming to the App Store. If something misbehaves, tell me what happened and which device you were using.

The morning shield didn't start

The shield works through Apple's Screen Time, which has to be allowed first:

  • Authorise Iqra in iOS Settings → Screen Time, then re-confirm in-app.
  • Fajr needs your location; if you declined it, Iqra uses a default dawn.
  • Open Iqra. The Today screen shows today's shield.

An app I chose is still resting

Finish today's ayahs and it lifts. If it's still resting:

  • Check strict mode, or the 9:30 PM evening wind-down.
  • Or remove the app in-app, or revoke Screen Time in iOS Settings.

Fajr looks early or late

  • Try another method in Settings: five methods, including high-latitude.
  • Travel? Fajr recomputes for the day you're in.
  • Decline location to use a default dawn.

Reminders aren't appearing

Two local reminders a day: dawn and evening, scheduled on your phone.

  • Re-allow notifications in iOS Settings → Notifications.
  • Check Focus modes aren't holding delivery.
  • They only ever carry your ayah count and streak.

Progress isn't syncing between phones

Sync runs quietly in the background. Reading never waits on the network.

  • Sign in with the same Apple or Google account on both phones.
  • Give each a moment of network access.
  • Conflicts merge so a completed morning is never lost.

Sign out, or delete my account?

  • Signing out clears this phone; the account keeps your progress.
  • Deleting your account removes it permanently.
  • Guests have no account. Everything lives on the phone.

Where does my data live?

Everything lives on your phone. As a guest nothing is uploaded; even signed in, your apps and location never leave. See the privacy policy.
